I got sick of looking at the rusted exhaust tip. So today I went ahead and sanded the rust off, worked my way through all the sandpaper grits (60,100,220,400,1000,2000)  Then I used a spray clear coat so it doesn't rust up again. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

Yeah dude, looks real good.  Is that the chrome-tip exhaust from the Rally package or is that just the standard pipe?  It looks really thick.

On a side note, when I got my 'tek the chrome exhaust tip was super rusty from the Ohio winters.  I used some steel wool and some chrome polish and now it looks like new.

Thanks man! It's just the stock tip. The earlier models (01-02) have a thicker weld-on steel tip and the later models have a smaller pipe.

I painted the pipe black cause the rust was ugly. Then I painted the shocks and the thing that goes around the rear axle.

First, what camera did you use to take the first pic?  That chromatic aberration is something else.

Second, the painting look really good.  I should do that too, or at least clean the axel part.  It would look so much better clean or painted.  Great idea!

The first two pics were with a 2mp camera phone and the two pics I took today were with a 5.2mp HP Photosmart.

While I was under there I also painted my resonator and the rim on the spare tire.

The air pressure is fine. I check it every time I check my other tires.
