Hello. I have a 2004 Pontiac Aztek with an onStar overhead console. I am planning on putting on a Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) System in replacement of the onStar console. Is that possible? What do I have to check to know if an RSE system or any DVD entertainment system will work? And if it work, do you have suggestions on how to do it? Also, does an in dash DVD system better or less work than the overhead console? Sorry for too many questions. Your responses will be greatly appreciated.

I would imagine it could be done, you would like be better to ask in the Facebook Aztek community. This forum has all but died, and everyone that is active is there.

The rear seat entertainment meaning the radio controls that allow the rear passengers to listen to a different station than the main cabin or the DVD entertainment system in the overhead console?

Either way I would assume you would have to do one of two things. Grab the correct body harness from a donor vehicle, whether it be complete (safest bet), or just the pins / harness portion you need and then add into your appropriate connector. And any modules needed to run the features. Would want to check out wiring and see any differences.

Have not done this, but will be adding in rear audio controls speakers and DIC with HUD when I there is a donor vehicle at a local yard. Any hopefully when its not like 20 degrees out and snow. lol.

I still frequent this forum because even though facebook is nice, searching is a pain.

I am currently working on installing the dvd and the overhead consule to a basic.

i ask questions here
1) because the people that have been with Aztek since the begining are here and not many on FB.
2) I want to keep this alive and simply asking question might keep it going. This so much information available.
