hey guys
not sure if you guys would know but what is the possibility of putting a GM Navigation in ? i know im my case the rendezvous didnt offer it till 03 and i have a 02. been told by the dealer i need a vin number before they can find out which one will work. On ebay i find LUX and non LUX radios but none specify these cars. I know it will need to be programmed but the buick dealer says it HAS to come out of a BUICK a Chevy delaership says he can make any gm radio work in any gm car. I would apreciate any help or info i have the UC6 and the UQ3 system in mine now and i have seen a navigation teamed up with a UQ3. thanks in advance

Not sure about the radio RPO code, but yes the dealership will have to reprogram the new radio with a Tech2. This device does the communicating with the GM computers, and can reprogram everything thru its use.

Very old thread, but I am about to do this on my Aztek..
On a 01, is it data class 2?
if I have the Pioneer Audio, do I need a lux or non-lux.
I have a Lux sitting on the shelf thats suited for my Envoy. But need to know what to look for in my Aztek..

If I understand correctly, the GM navigation radios get their map updates through OnStar. You may want to check that first for sure before swapping the units.

That would be incorrect. The map updates are recieved thru a new map disc from the GM dealer. About 200+ Bucks..
Thats not the question thou..
Is the Aztek a Data Class II system. is a system with a Pioneer system, is that the same, as far as amps are concerned, the same as BOSE..
I have already confirmed that the Aztek with Pioneer is not considered a LUX System.
What I need to know is if its considered a Non-Lux with Class II, or just non-lux.

Wow, thought someone would have installed a GM OEM nav system by now... Still working on this and havent gotten anywhere. I have been told that I need to use a Nav system from a buick Rendezvous, 03 and 04 only. But have not been able to confirm this, and since those are INR and I want a TNR, its kind of a mute point.
INR is where you use this track ball type of a mouse to input stuff into the NAV system. TNR is a touch screen.
