Aftermarket Radio turns on but gives a security warning.

I have a 2003 tek and I recently got a pioneer double din stereo. I wired everything up and got it to turn on, but it won't play music. Also it gives a Security warning on the HUD and won't let me shift out of park. I eventually was able to shift after trying to shift immediately shifting after turning the key. But then it got even worse. I could see how fast i was going on the dial or the Heads up. Also my traction control wasn't on and abs was off. I didn't think this all could be from my radio, but when i put my old one back in sure enough everything worked fine. SO confused and frustrated, any thoughts will help, thanks.

At least you got your stereo to turn on, I got the exact same stereo and wired things up that matched and it never turned on. What adapter did you end up using if I may ask? Sorry I'm no help to you though, just recently became an Aztek owner

Hey, finally got it to work with mine. I needed the v2 harness cable to actually get power. The security issue could be a simple fix tho, I had the security go off on mine too and taking out the positive NOT the negative battery terminal for a few min resets the security settings. Does that help u?
