Take me back to the first day I joined!

WWW
« on: August 13, 2007, 08:07:29 PM »

I heard great comments about this product, so I had to give it a try this weekend.  YES YES!!!  I had a big weekend, I started cleaning DATEK Friday night and finished Saterday afternoon.

Mothers BACK-to-BLACK is a phenominal product.  Immidiately during the application of this cream I noticed a dramatic change in the color of my cladding.  If you were to apply some on and take a step back you could see how the difference with and without is huge.  From a gray BACK-to-BLACK INDEED.  Now I applied Mothers on Saturday around 12:00 and untill today my cladding is STILL BLACK.  I am very pleased with the results and I highly reccomend it for every one to use.

So if you ask yourself why I rated it an 8 and not higher...  Well it is because of the application it self.  I found it to be quite difficult, once applied you must let it sit for a short while before BUFFING it out, well that was the hard part.  I found that the cream held well to the cladding making it difficult to wpie off.  It also recomends that you do small amounts at a time which does make sence cause if you apply it entirely imagine how much more harder it will be to remove once you reach the end of the cladding.

Allot of patience and time is required for this, so be prepared.

Here is a up date.  I used it today for the second time, and I really forgot how time consuming this stuff is, a real PAIN IN THE A**.  Listen It might make the cladding look REAL good, but when it takes about 55 min to just do the cladding, it is NOT WORTH the hassle.  After using the bottle a second time, I noticed that there is probably enough for one more application and a half so it does not go all that far.

If you have the time to sit appy wait to dry then buff, then be my guest, not me man, NO WAY, Simonize spray shine gave a wicked look, shined real well, gave the BLACK look, lasted only a week, but man so much easier to do 10 minutes...

Mother's Back to Black is definitely worth the effort!  I will probably have to use it several times (my Cladding is so Sun Damaged), but it is SSSOOO much better than the other products I tried.  Yes it does take time, but hey this is my Purple Puppy we are talking about, he takes me everywhere and he deserves the very best products and care.

I have to offer my thumbs up to this product as well.  I bought a bottle and it makes the cladding look brand new!  I apply it after every wash now, along with my tire shine.  Tek just doesn't look as good without! Grin

I did not find it difficult to apply at all.  I just squirt some into a microfiber applicator pad (I have the Armor All ones) and wipe down the cladding.  That's it.  Takes me maybe 15-20min to do my entire vehicle.  Definitely worth the effort!

Unfortunately though, like with every other product that makes the cladding look good, one good rain and it's gone. Makes me wonder if a semi gloss clear coat wouldn't be a permanent fix.

Heres what I have been thinking, especially after yesterdays washing.  After the long winter the cladding needed a little more work that the usual weekly wash.  And absorbing the cladding, man it is finished!!!  sun damaged and pale!!!  Like as4s1 mentioned maybe a clear coat to eliminate this would be good, here is what I want to do next.

Oh you sick, sick boy!!! That looks BA, like a REAL Aztek ('01) on steroids. From that point you could actually just paint the cladding to match the darker paint.

Then might I suggest a pint or six of Bourbon Butter Pecan from Jeni's Spendid Ice Cream here in Columbus. Actually has a touch of Maker's Mark in the mix. They will do overnight FedEx from their website btw.
