Title: Bon Cop Bad Cop
Post by: TheHipAztek on September 09, 2006, 08:24:53 AM
Have any Canadian Tek owners seen that Bon Cop Bad Cop movie from Quebec? I figured I would post this in the Canadian rally thread, since many American Tek owners would not know what the heck I was talking about.

Anyway, this movie was funny! It was better than Lethal Weapon. I went in not knowing what it was about; but my buddy insisted we go see it. To my suprise it was awesome! A body is found on the border of Ontario and Quebec, literally on the border - the bosy was hanging over the sign that says welcome to Ontario on one side and Quebec on the other. So both the anglo and francophone detectives get involved.

I recommend it, if you get a chance to go to the movies.

If have seen it, what is your opinion?

Is it new? that sounds cool.  Anyone in it we know? (wait...if it's a Canadian movie, it stars Dan Ackroyd and the crotchity old guy from the Beachcombers...answered my own question)

Its got Rick Mercer, from 22 Minutes. Patrick Huard from the Les Boys movies, and there is also Colm Feore; who actually is American he was born in Boston, but grew up in Ontario; he has been in several American movies as cop/detective roles.

I like your answer, very funny. The Beachcombers! What was that guys name? I would think they could have added Lesli Neilson to the cast. I loved him in Men With Brooms. I am waiting for another Strange Brew movie; SCTV rocked!

Another Canuck flick I recommend is "Lucid".  I have wanted to see this one thought - thanks for the review.

I can't believe I know this, but wasn't his name on the show 'Relic"?

He wasn't the Native on the show was he? Is he the same guy from the Red Green show?

The native guy your thinking of is Graham Greene, who was born in Redickville, ON, about 10 minutes north of me here.

The old crotchity guy was indeed "Relic" who's real name is Robert Clothier.

Thank you for the clarification. I am young and am thinking of the "New Beachcombers."

But anyhoo, my other buddy saw Bon Cop Bad Cop; and said it was better than any of the Lethal Weapon movies or 48 Hour movies he'd ever seen. I had to agree. This movie rocks. Too bad it was not or will not be relaesed into US  theatres. But many Americans would not get the humour. This movie just for fun, beat out the new Pirates movie in box offices in Canada opening weekend. How cool is that?

It was playing at the Famous Players in Windsor. I think it did get a limited release. Thats how you know its a good movie. I love watching those "indie flicks." They are so much better than the blockbusters; except the Pirates movie. I don't think anything or anyone can beat Johnny Depp in his Pirate outfit. MEEEEOW!!!

I dunno.... that 5 second scene of Nicholas Cage in Face/Off where he gets out of his limo at the airport, and his silk tench coat catches the wind and snaps behind him.  Now that's yummy.
Or any picture of Paul Teutle Jr. staddling a chopper..... okay, I have to go now....

Sorry, us girl Tek owners need our own forum.

Bon Cop Bad Cop is so awesome!!!!!!!! I think you guys would love it too. It is made up of three things that stay true to my heart- beer, hockey, and well you need to see this 14+ movie cause I don't want to get in trouble. The third thing begins with an "S." Oui oui, j'aime les pelics du Quebec!

Is the "S" an English Word or French?

Also is that the Order of preference?

The "S" word was English but not a cuss word; and no order of preference. I think every movie that comes out of Montreal has these three things in it. Especially in the Les Boys movies.
