OK, this might be a silly question, but I'm more comfortable working with wood than car interiors. So...

I recently took most of the trim off the dash of my 2004 Aztek Rally. (The goal was to get the instrument cluster out to replace the stepper motors.)

Anyway, as I was removing all 47 pieces of trim to get the cluster out, a couple of the screws got stripped pretty badly. I'd like to just replace them with new screws when I put the whole thing back together. (I also managed to drop one screw, never to be seen again.)

So, here's the question, finally: where can I look up the part #s for the screws themselves? All the parts diagrams show the parts but no fasteners. I mainly need the 3 T10 Torx screws that go above the handle, below the handle, and to the left of the handle by the radio. I also need one of the 4 screws (they look like what I would call sheet metal screws) that holds the cluster in place. Are these moderately generic screws than I can get at an auto parts store or do I need original GM/Pontiac screws?

Thanks!

Man good question. I'm trying to find the size of the screw that holds up the steeringwheel cover. The screw is the long one that goes up from under the steering wheel.

Take the screws you have to the auto parts store. They will have most everything you need. Otherwise, find a screw that works, even if you have to go to Lowe's or Fastenal. They may not be factory but they will keep the dash off of your lap!
