I am an original Aztek owner, purchased my Aztek in March 2001.  It now has 92000 miles and going strong.  I would like to add the HUD to my Aztek.  I searched the forum and found several threads that talked around the topic, but nothing definitive that I could locate or any indication that anyone had actually undertaken this mod.

If someone could point me to a thread with specific how-to instructions, or if anyone has successfully installed the HUD unit in an original non-HUD Aztek and can share the experience, I would be appreciative.  Thanks in advance.

2003 Gold FWD Aztek - aka "The Warthog"

I have never seen a discussion that went into that kind of detail.  To add it, I believe you have to change the dash, the windshield, the instrument cluster (I think) and then the car has to be programmed to enable it.

Your best bet would probably be to pick up the factory service manual.  I have the one for my 2003, and I have to tell you, it's HUGE!  Like two really thick old phone books.   Between the wiring diagrams and drawings, that should give you most of what you need.

Might just be cheaper and easier to get something like a Navdy.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
