Title: Tow hitch in bumper?
Post by: hardwaregrrl on May 13, 2017, 09:01:45 PM
Anyone ever have it done?  I'm tired of how low the hitch is, and my basket just bent the subframe a bit so my current hitch is now lower on the left side because of it.

I Actually removed my bumper/fascia to install my draw-tite hitch and it is mostly foam.  It probably would not work.

Dammit...thx PSU.  So what I've found out is that the frame on our loved Azteks....sucks.  If you look at the bolt on hitch for our cars it has 2 holes to attach to the frame.  The rear hole on our frame is through metal that might be 2mm thick....where as the front hole the frame is at the very end of being 5mm thick.  Our frames are not designed to have any tounge weight other than the hitch itself.  Pretty irritated since I tow a lot and now my frame is cracked because the metal is so thin.  Time to look into welding options for the frame.
