We just replaced the master cylinder at 36,000 miles.  We don't ever remember replacing a master cylinder on any of the many vehicles that we have owned.  Must be the manufacturing quality of today.

I have replaced many a master cylinder in my day. I can't remember the mileage on any of them, but I bet I have done at least 10 in my day.
