I am trying to replace the struts on my 2005 Rally.  I opened the hood to spray penetrating oil on the bolts for the upper strut mount and saw how difficult it will be to remove those bolts.  I have read that you need to Remove the windshield wiper module to gain access to these bolts.  Does anyone have a step-by-step on this?  I have the nuts off the wiper arms but I cannot even get these to come off the bolt.   :banghead:  Luckily, I didn't remove the strut from the knuckle before seeing this.  Any help on how to do this would be appreciated.

Check out the GM service manual for ideas...

Wipers pry off with a screwdriver (gently).  Then, after removing the plastic cowling and rubber gasket, 4 screws hold the entire wiper mechanism in place.  Once these are removed (and with a little maneuvering), it can be slid out of the way.

I replaced both my struts and springs without removing the wiper module, just used various wrenches and ratchets. On the side with the fusebox I unbolted it and moved it slightly to give more room also it is easier if the wipers are fully extended when doing this procedure.

Cheers,
Chris
