What the heck did they do to me???  My new Tek, left over '03 model, 17" rims came with a Limited Warranty Highway Auto & Ligt Truck Tire Adjustment Policy.  My ride has Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires.

Don't tell me these would be part of the ones that like to blow apart for no good reason at who knows when.

Anyone else get one of these booklets with a 03 model that had 17" rims?  Do u have the same tire?  Should I be concerned at all?  Last, does anyone if this is a good tire to begin with?  I will check my consumer report book later to see if it was reviewed before.

Thanks

I think many (if not all)  the teks with 17" rims come with Goodyear RSA's. In looking around before I saw a really varied opinion of them (short life milage wise, long life milage, that kind of thing). There was one person in the YAHOO group that didn't like them at all for winter driving. We don't have them on either of ours Teks, so I don't know myself how they are.

I'm pretty sure all cars/trucks with Goodyears come with that pamplet just as a formality, dosen't mean anything, just letting you know the warranty procedures

My last 2 trucks had the same card

Settle your worries, goodyear eagle do not blow apart, it was the firestone brand that had all the problems. Goodyear tires are all good, so do not fret!

You shouldnt have to worry about the goodyears blowing up on you. As mhearn21 mentioned, the tires that were really bad and recalled were one of the  firestone wilderness style. My 01 had a wilderness style on them when I first got her but as soon as I saw the name I had them checked out and they were not the style that they were having problems with. I never had a problem with them at all after that.

My Ranger 4x4 had the wilderness tires, but I already had 48000 mi on them when they were recalled and replaced for me- got new tires for free. I never had a problem with them, but I understand that the problems were really due to underinflation at high temperatures.

I had the same tire on a Cavelier Z24 and loved it after 40K of good high speed driving, hard cornering, hard stops they still had a lot of life in them. . .A great tire IMO. . . . .I put the 235/60/16 Toyo 800 Ultra on mine as the second choice, love them too. . . .I like the Eagle RS-A. . . .One of the few I do like. . . .

Hey - I've an 02 yeller 'tek with 16"

Cooper winters are great tires (if you see winters) and would be great for wet climes as well as dirt.. but sloppy if you dig in the corners (apparently non-tek owners who complain about it say its bad cornering, but mine is better than I expected..)

Ironically the stock 215's are only a bit bigger than the 200 that is on my ninja..  :cooldude: and that tire goes for $400!!   almost as much for one tire than all 4 on the tek!!

tis a crazy world.

Bengt.
