Title: Brake Dust Shields
Post by: GoddessShip on May 19, 2003, 07:27:44 AM
I have so much brake dust on my wheels.  It takes me about a half and hour or more to get the brake dust off of my wheels using cleaner and a wheel brush.  I am thinking about purchasing Brake Dust Shields.  Does anyone have them already?   Has anyone heard anything good/bad about them?

   :)

0aztek3-

Do those part numbers go for 2002 also? Where can I find that out?  Where are those parts from so I can order them? I see their from GM but do you have an address for them?  I would love to order a couple of things on that list.

Also does anyone have them?  Any complaints?

Thanks

GM doesn't make em. A company called kleenwheels does, they make em for many different cars.

Check out www.kleenwheels.com (http://www.kleenwheels.com)

Aztextasy has them and says they work great.

I have them and love em :P Beats scrubbing the wheels. Only thing is they were a pain in the butt to put in. Had to do some major massaging, but they are definitely not coming out.  I highly recommend them.

Cool, does it require taking the wheel off?

The wheels must come off. Then just place the kleen wheels inside the rims. You have to follow the instructions as to which ones go where due to wind flow so your brakes will stay cool.

Are they paintable?  If they are how do you think that would look?

They are paintable. How they will look would depend on the wheels you use them in. I thought about it but decided against it. I figured they wouldnt show up enough with the stock wheels.

I am going to have a friend paint them once I get them.  I checked out that "Fusion" paint and I didn't like any of the colors.  I am also going to try to get my friend to paint parts of my dash.  Hopefully I will get this stuff done before next year.

I took a different approach, trying to keep the Aztek god sun theme

OH  :)  I was wondering if that was your rims.  Good idea!  I think I am going to get them painted the same color as my car.

Thanks
