I guess I could find some guide online.  Did you do it all yourself?  My 'tek is the only thing I have to drive here so I don't wanna screw something up and be out of a car for a while Sad

How much did everything cost including rims, tires, sandblast, powdercoat?

What finish are they?  Shiny?  They're black right?  Maybe just post some pics Smiley

Yea I pretty much did it by myself. If you buy a kit (recommended, it comes with everything you need) from your local auto store it will have a detailed guide, so no need to look up one online. Also the online guide might be different than your kit because some have different methods and stuff.. Also I had my motorhead friend advisor but it was over the phone. Also python (from here) had done it before and I contacted him too about it. It's quite simple, easier than I thought.

So the powdercoat was a lot more expensive than I thought (had read it was $25 per rim). Someone on the phone first gave me a quote of 35 per rim and so the very nice operator guy in the warehouse said he would stick with that quote. But normally for rims of my size it would cost about 45-50 per rim. Also sandblasting cost 10 per rim.
Rims: $100
Tires: $142 each, but $700 after installation (hopefully tomorrow!! yay) and lil things they tack on
Sandblast & powdercoat: $203

So basically I just spent about one grand on rims and tires which really hurts. But it will look quite fantastic once the new rims are mounted and the new tires are put on. I am headed over tomorrow and hopefully my auto place can do it then!!

Oh and I will definitely upload some shots! The finish is a medium gloss (a little shine, but not a lot because a lot=lots of maintenance) and oh yea definitely BLACK..

Not if you have the right polish and lots of time to spend cleaning them of brake dust  hehe.  Actually I upgraded to ceramic pads a couple months ago which don't even produce any brake dust.  Got the pads on sale at the GM dealer for 50% off so I said why not!  The red caliper, trust me, that itself will take lots of effort to clean I found that one out the dust loves to stick to them very snugly.

I believe you thought I was talking about the brake calipers, when in fact I was talking about my new rims..

also turns out a the auto garage "does not have enough manpower" to mount my rims and put on the tires. GAWWW!! one guy had to go to a funeral.. so monday is new tire day which sucks I was really looking forward to getting em on before the weekend so  I could go out and shoot some photos of it..

photo of the powdercoated rims, although the photos dont really do them justice, they look perfect! not too flashy or glossy but enough to look good and batmobiley

brake calipers painted look good even with the OEM rims! (I am going to be helping my friend paint his 05 grand prix this weekend. they give enough paint to do like 3 cars in the kit I bought)

Haha you read that before I was able to edit eh?! Sneaky one Mister call4help..

Yes the mechanic was wrong and the old ones fit. He apologized for that 'scare' haha..They actually look pretty good in gold but I am thinking I may want to get them in red.. But the gold/black contrast looks very very classy..

photos are being uploaded to photobucket 'as we speak'... It looks very very nice I must say.. Grip is an improvement and I am definitely sitting higher than before..

So I downsized the files on my photobucket server so they arent soo big anymore..

Anyways! Here are the images! Oh man does it look slick.

closer-ups

The center caps are empty but I have some plans (involving a black door knob from local hardware store and lots of glue). I dont know the rim makers so I dont really know where to get real center caps.. Then I have some stickers to go over the caps that I will conjure up.

NICE RIMS, especially with the red calipers!  Now my suggestion to really bring em' out ... clean the tires really good with a wire brush, then use some tire shine.  Also, I suggest using some Back-to-Black for your cladding to really make it look outstanding!

Congrats, you are truly on your way to the very first Bat-Tek.
