Good Day everyone. Great Site guys. I have been lurking since the beginnig and have decide it is time to contribute. I have a 2001 FWD and am now starting to do modifications. The first step was the K&N filter. If you haven't done this yet I highly recommend it. I notice more torque off the line and better passing also my fuel ecomy is about 10% better. The next step is to lower the body similar to the 2001 Daytona 500 Aztekk.  I am planning on a 1.5" to 2" drop in front and a 2.5" to 3" drop in back.I have checked with Eiback and they don't know anything about what they used on the Daytona so onto the next step. The Aztek goes into the shop in 2 weeks. We are pulling apart the suspension and measuring and rating the springs.  Unless someone out there has done this already and would like to share the information? We will then order the springs that are shorter by whatever height I decide to drop the body. The shocks will all have to be changed as well. KYB makes a set of replacements based on the OEM ones, and I am waiting to see what they have that will allow the drop. I will lose my load leveling capabilities as the air suspension will have to be disabled.  We looked at going with coil overs but decided to do it right. If anyone has any other ideas let me know.

Thanks and Have a great Day.

Awesome! Welcome to the Club!

I was going to suggest checking with Eibach until I read the middle of your post ^_^ . I'm very interested in hearing your results! A K+N filter is next on my list too. I have one on my Impala and it works great.  I also gutted my air box in the Imp and have sort of a ram air setup. I wonder if it is possible to do the same on the Tek? Gutting the air box involves removing the restrictive piping inside the airbox in front of the filter. I haven't looked in the airbox yet but I wonder if its the same.  This is a proven mod on the w-body cars. Check out www.clubgp.com and search "gutted airbox".

Sorry to go off topic, but let us know what you find out! Thanks! :blol:

I am also interested in lowering my Aztek. I've heard of someone using '99 comaro springs to acheive a drop. Just an idea. When you find out what all you will need to do, then keep us informed about it. Thanks. :cooldude:

 I 2 am very interested in lowering my 2002 Rendezvous 2".  After much research, the only thing I was able to come up with was aftering speaking with a friend at Street Dreams who has an account with Eibach.  They told him that they would custom make them for the Rendezvous/Aztek but, he would have to order a minimum of 15 sets(4) at a cost of $550 per set.

How do they lower the 2004 Rally Edition?  Can you swap parts?

There is  a tek on cardomain.com that has been lowered with camaro springs. Their page is under ( aztek as it gets rollin on d's) by auto enhancers.  I know they no longer have the tek but if you contact them they will gladly help you out. they are very nice I asked them about the stereo and they answered me very quickly.

I hope you had good results from the measureing.  Can you share the results?  I think I could not part with my load leveling but would like a drop in the front by about 1- 1 1/2 inches.  Like the A-Team van agressive look Wink  Cheesy

resetting your load leveling is easy.

Take a look under the back and you will see a little rod going up from one of the suspension links, that rod will be attached to an arm on a box, this is ride hieght sensor.   Just remove the rod and shorten it to the appropriate length, re-attach the plastic ball-end and thats it.

You can replace the rod with a threaded rod and turnbuckle if you want to tweak it further without having to cut the rod.

I lowered by chop top Buick Electra and reset the air-ride this way.
works great
