Update, since I think I already posted in this thread.

I want my next car to be brand new, or close to brand new.  Therefore there are a few models of interest to me right now, but probably won't be when my Tek needs replacing (I want to keep her for a long time  hopefully 250,000km+ ).

Either the new GMC Terrain, Chevy Equinox, Ford Edge, or Ford Escape. Tongue

I LOVE that ford edge, it is just so darn cute, plus love the chromed out sport version.  However, never had non-gm before so would probably go with the terrain as well.

Angry I've been a GM guy all my life, no more as long as they're owned and operated by the government and the union. Same for MOPAR. I need a little more guts for mountain passes with my T@B trailer, the Aztek does it but with some difficulty. I'm thinking an F150 for towing part time, get rid of the V8 Fiero and get a used Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Compressor for a daily driver. The Aztek makes a nice compromise for daily use and towing, any change will have to be a complete do-over for vehicles. I don't know of any other rig that gives better than the 23MPG like I'm getting daily and also gets 17MPG towing for the same money. I'd still buy a GM, just not new.

Besides, just seeing that drop top SLK roof in operation practically gives this old gear head a stiffy! Shocked

Wow, this thread was started in 2006 and is still going! I posted on the first page that I would probably replace my beloved Boomer with a new Camaro if it ever came to be. Well, it has happened and I ordered my 2010 Camaro last week!!

I am heartbroken that neither my daughter or my hubby wants the Aztek, so I am forced to trade it in or sell it. I have until probably the middle to end of November to find a new owner who will love him. Sad

I have a listing in the For Sale section if anyone knows anyone who is interested.

Well, this is a question more suited for my wife, since the Tek is hers..

She has been Eyeballing the Mini-Coopers. Little does she know that firstly, I AM NOT GAY (not trying to sound offensive to anyone), and secondly, a mini will never be parked in my driveway.

She wants a truck too. So maybe a Avalanche Diesel (if they get around to making one like they were planning) or a Hybrid Avalanche. No I am not a Hippy, but you pay about 50g to get a fully loaded one, and 48-54 to get a fully loaded Hybrid. So get a tax break, and better city fuel mileage.

Real yes, available yes, but from what I read they are both coming from custom shops and not the manufacturers so expect BIG price tags. And why would they make a winge Daytona out of a Challenger when they could have stayed true to heritage and used the current Charger? Sure it's a 4 door but it's still one BA car.

I agree with you there.  I suppose because the challenger has more hype right now and the fact that HPP could better market the heritage look of the old Daytona that they chose the Chllenger rather then the Charger.

I have read that the Smokey and the Bandit looking T/A will run somewhere in the 20 to 40 thousand depending on pakages and options.  No idea what the options are though.

I really want to get a car after college is done.  I really like the Grand Prix GXP, G8 GXP (pricey!), and Dodge Charger.

I know this thread is kinda old, but the question is on my mind because I've had bad news from the mechanic.  After getting the check engine light diagnosed, the mechanic asked me if I have considered getting a new car! Sad Shocked

So, Big O is on hospice care right now. We had the fluids changed and need to consider what to buy next (neither I nor my husband have the desire or ability to do all the required work to rebuild my beloved Aztek).

I've been thinking about a Jeep Renegade Latitude -- I've wanted a Jeep since before I ever saw an Aztek. But I also like unusual vehicles (like my Aztek) so I was also thinking about a Nissan Juke or a Kia Soul.  My hubby thinks the Aztek is ugly, and the Soul, and the Juke... so that sounds about right  Grin.  Seriously, he likes the Jeep Renegade and that's probably what we'll go for.
