Title: Evaporator replacement DIY?
Post by: Amphiduck on April 03, 2019, 03:59:07 PM
I've had my '03 2WD for about a year and a half and must say it's one of my favorite vehicles I've owned. Recently, when turning on the AC, my carpets get soaking wet. I know it boils down to the evaporator lines potentially leaking into the cabin, and upon inspection, the drain tube through the firewall is pushed into the cabin.

Does anyone have a DIY of accessing the evaporator and replacing? Seems deep under the dash.

If not, I do have another '01 aztek with a blown head gasket and might have to do some exploratory surgery...

Thanks for any insight on this!

There was a service bulletin about water on the floor and to install an extension onto the drain. Looks all external and adds a right angle elbow to it. PN 22542866.
