Hello, I've been looking through the forums here and cant nail down the issue with my 03 Aztek.

Drove the car fine friday night to a park, then when I got done biking the car wouldn't start, I have power to the locks, radio, etc, but the engine doesn't even start to crank.
Tried jumping with my friends car thinking the battery was low for about 20 minutes until throwing in the towel and getting it towed to my local mechanic.  Removed the key with the pencil trick and put it in neutral to get it on the flatbed with the neutral switch in the cupholder.
Over the weekend since they were closed I replaced the battery thinking this could still be the issue but it didn't help the problem.

current symptom is put key in the lock and turn it to start position, no crank, can't remove key, display shows all kinds of warnings including security, and it continuously dings, and the odometer reads Error.

The key I was using throughout this is an aftermarket PK3 key that's been in use for years.  I also tried starting with my GM PK3 but the same result.

Is this a matter of the passkey not knowing these keys for some reason all the sudden, and if so can I fix this issue with an original GM key for the car and keyfob?
Or is this in need of a complete BCM replacement?  :banghead:
