So I acquired a hood today that has a ram air opening for free.  I have been looking at it and beleive I have found a way to blend it with the stock tek hood and in the end it will look like a factory option but it WILL stand out.  I have also come up with the air box idea and it will be functional and provide the whine of the supercharger I want to hear.

Okay so I am getting sick of looking at the SSEi in my driveway.  I am gonna pull the engine and transmission for spare parts and use some other parts for future mods.  I decided that with my powertrain upgrade I should upgrade my brakes. I cannot believe it, the rotors and brake rests will bolt right onto the aztek so now I will be able to use the larger rotors and calipers on the fronts. I have a little more exploring to do on the rear brakes but I believe I can also use them on the aztek gtp. I think my biggest problem will be finding the correct brake cables for the parking brakes.   Yeah, 4 wheel disc system on a fwd supercharged tek.  I think this project is moving ahead even though it is at a snails pace.

Wow  it's been awhile,   I have Aztek GTP on the back burner as a few other things in life are currently more important.  My deadline is drawing nearer but still is some time away as my wife wants old blue my stock Aztek for her ride once her lease is up on her current car.  Well today I made another purchase, I bought a 2003 Aztek with versatrack awd.  Now as silly as it sounds I am considering maybe using this system as it works extremely well and has very low mileage.  I need to research if it will take the torque I plan on putting to it. The 2003 itself in my books may not be worth the repair as I live in Canada and this tek is a NY state tek and has had a small fender bender (no structure damage) and the owner now resides in Ontario Canada and she never imported it.  Maybe too much paperwork hassle than what it is worth.  I drove it home it runs well, needs a rear bearing, brakes, and some tires to make it right. No lights on, everything works, A/C ice cold even in this heat. All in all a great parts tek.  If I do not use the versa track I will sell it off as well as the cooler and other items I do not need.  I think I am keeping the nice clear tail lights as my blue tek has some fading and the hatch will be donated to the Aztek GTP once it is painted black. I am not sure if I am gonna use the AWD alloys or sell them off, it is a shame on this tek as the interior is clean but it is the tan color and both my teks are grey inside. Hey even the original cargo nets are in it still in their original plastic.   Not bad for $500..........

If you need another 3.8 supercharged engine, I saw this one on CL

http://southjersey.craigslist.org/pts/2511773186.html

I don't think that they will deliver to Canada for $75 though.

Thanks guys but I am running out of room... lol..       I have 3 teks as well as my other projects and a spare supercharged powertrain to boot.   I just keep finding other stuff that I consider jamming into the Aztek GTP.  It is coming along and I think when I am done it may be the most optioned tek I know of, lol..   God I gotta find something else to occupy my time..  my poor wife...     lol...

It would be cool. However, L67 was never available with a manual. The N/A 3800 was, but only in the rwd Camaro.

Haha. I was about to suggest that he fabricate a stiff rear sway bar for his 'Tek (eliminates body roll, decreases understeer.) But I guess that would be to easy.  Wink
Why don't you put a Chevy 350 in it, and convert it to rear wheel drive.  Grin

Doodlebug - yes, if you read through the thread, you'll see Brenner successfully got a 3800SC stuck into a Tek and it runs beautifully - he's now (or was) looking at ways to enhance it with cold air induction, and various other accessories...
