Here's a strange question...

every now and then while driving the tek, I will catch the warning light on the left of the dash flashing at me. It never stays on long enough for me to see what it says... just a blip and it's gone for several more weeks.

Any idea what that is all about?

Hhmm I wonder if its one of those lights that would come on if you turned key to on position , but did not start it (one of those checkout things. Maybe it would stay on long enough then)

Dern, might have to get the manual out and see if the various lights are documented  with a diagram in there.

Is the light the YELLOW infomation area? Do you have Traction control, or VERSATRAKô AWD.  You said it comes on Quick!! I noticed this winter that when ever the Traction control would kick in on my AZTEK (FWD) the light comes on - saying "TRACTION ACTION" This light come on very quick but it also chimes when activated.

I always see a light flash on my dash but its the red seat belt light.  I know I SHOULD be wearing it but most of the time I just hook the loop over the arm rest w/o clickin it so the fuzz dont see me. I love that little arm rest.! Its probly saved me alot of tickets.
Since I have my dash out I'll look at the gauges in the morning and let you know what lights are up there.

Elisha, I feel compelled to tell you to reconsider wearing your seat belt properly.  You may not like the feel of it but I have seen many cases of people's lives being saved by the seat belt.  My own dad is alive today because of his seat belt.  The seat belt is the single best way to protect yourself in an accident; it is far more effective than the airbag.  I work in automotive safety and trust me when I say that even lower speed accidents can be terrible without a seat belt.  I'd hate to see anything happen to a fellow Aztek fan club member.   :cry1:

Yeah I just knew that I would get slack for saying that :lolu: I hear it all the time. Actually I do wear my seatbelt after I get to the highway road or the interstate but when I get going out of the driveway I'm still fiddlin with cd's till I get to the seatbelt. So I always have that annoying little red light flashing till I get to it. I know I know,  excuses  :ignore:

Tom, I looked at the gauges today and the only lights on the left hand side are the   brake,  anti-lock,   turn signal and SEAT BELT light :lolu:

Elisha,

First... and I won't preach on this one...

Statistical data shows that 93% of all automobile accidents occur within one mile of home... So if you have to be involved in an accident, and the highway is more than a mile from home, you have a 7 percent chance of having it on at the time of the accident...

Anyway...

The light I am seeing is not an "idiot light" it is the amber square in the bottom of the tach (the one that says "Change Engine Oil" and "Rear Hatch Ajar" and "Door Ajar" and "Low Fuel"... blah blah blah...

I just can't see what it says before it goes back out.

Drove an ambulance for two years while in college.  Never wore a seat belt before.  Have always worn one since.  Do it before you rummage for cd's.
