Now all I have to do is wait for my brother to have the time to get this together. It's so much easier painting new parts than trying to do old ones. One thing to remember the paint will give you a terrible buzz so use it in a well ventilated area. Duplicolor Ceramic Paint comes in both spray and brush on.

i personally used the brush on duplicolor. but watch out when putting the parts back onto the aztek, the paint on the rotors might cause the pads not to stick well and you may not stop as good until all the paint wears off. also, theres a couple parts on the caliper where if you paint it my mechanic grandfather said would cause the parts not to fit as well and could potentially be a problem down the line. but they look amazing, and duplicolor ceramic paints are an amazing product.

Bought them locally, I was able to get everything in that kit plus ceramic brakes for less than GM's price.
JP the paint on the face of the rotors is on plastic and tape. I spent many years working in an auto parts store.
I actually think the spray duplicolor is easier to work with especially when starting with new parts. A little blue tape goes a long way.

I worked off both sets to come up with comparable parts. The prices in bpth are a little high compared to what I paid.

so the old calipers and pistons are pushing larger Gran Prix brake pads on Grand Prix Rotors correct?

No I will replace the single piston calipers with dual piston f-body calipers along with the 12" rotors.

jack

but if one, say I, just performs the steps on the list, how much benefit is there by adding larger brake pads and larger rotors if the calipers are not increased in size as well?

It's interesting I was scoping out the specs on both calipers and the dual GP calipers don't have a whole lot more stopping power than the single piston.

Sso are the Aztek brake pads and the new Grand Prix brake pads the same size since the initial article states about considering new brake pads in needed?

If going with the new 12 inch rotors, we could check out the cross drilled and slotted rotors for the Prix also?
