Hi, everyone!

I just found this site today.  Very Cool!

You've probably seen my posts at Yahoo groups and I always seem to find myself complaining about the same thing... all the electrical problems that are associated with having a sunroof on a 'tek!

Today I called my dealer to see how my baby('02 yellow 'tek) was doing.  They said that the anit-lock brake wire harness was corroded because of the leak coming from the sunroof.  Luckily the yellow waring light on the left side of the dash came on early enough to avoid an accident.

Anyway, I just thought I'd vent a bit.  Maybe some of you that have been experiencing electrical problems might want to check into this.  I've already replaced the car's computer, and I've replaced the wires that read the gas tank level, and I've replaced some other wires that the dealer thought might give me problems in the future.  I just hope that these corrosion probems don't continue after the warrantee runs out.

Later!

Welcome to the site!  Glad you found it.  Have they fixed the sunroof leak?

Welcome to the site! Smiley

Sorry to hear about your sunroof problems.

I have an 02 with a sunroof and I have not experienced any problems like that.

Was it the sunroof leaking that caused everything?

Yes, all the problems have all been related to moisture from the water leaks.  You'd think a "recreational" vehicle would be more "tolerant" of moisture, right?  Now I'm even scared to leave the windows open for fear that it might rain.  I've got a litle Geo Tracker 4x4 and I've left the top off a few times in the rain and nothing's ever happened to that thing.

Anyway, I called the dealer on Friday (8/22/02) and they said the sunroof was fixed.  However, the corroded wire harness that's associated with the anti-lock brakes still needs to be replaced.  The dealer claims that this part is hard to come by.  So, my poor baby's been sitting at the dealer for 13 days now.  Tomorrow I'm calling Pontiac  Customer Assistance to let them know what's going on.  This long wait just doesn't sound right to me.

See ya'!

Welcome!  I would definitely call the Pontiac 800 line and complain about the long wait.  That is way too long to wait for a repair to be done.
