I saw a piece of plastic under the steering column, I grabbed it to pull it off the thing. When I did what appeared to be a white button came out of a hole underneath, A round hole. It was attached to the piece of plastic I pulled. the white thing came out of the hole about 1/2 to 3/4 inch and I pushed it up slowly and something sucked it up into the steering column and the piece of dangling plastic I pulled in the first place (about 2 inches long) it sucked all up into the column. Very weird. After that I was unable to turn the key all the way off so I cannot remove it and lights stay on.
Any idas how to fix this?

Replace ignition lock.

Or take the lower cover off the column (2 torx screws and a small cover above the tilt lever) and see if it can be fixed.
