Hello all. Although I am new to this forum I have read this site for months now and enjoy the information that is shared. My Aztek has been trouble free for 21,200 miles until now.
I was wondering has anyone else had trouble with their auto headlights? I have a 2002 Aztek, steelblue, with as stated just over 21,000 miles and it has been trouble free.
This past Saturday I noticed while driving on a cloud free beatuiful day (I live in Florida) that my dash light would come on for a few seconds then go off. This kept on for several miles until I got home. I thought it might be some film on the dash sensor from Armorall or something and wiped it off, however it is still doing it. Of course the outside lights all come as well just as if it were night.
I am off this week so will take it in next week but was wondering if anyone else has had this.
Thank you!

Have never had it happen to me.  I wish I could get them to come on when it's raining but not dark out.

Could possible be a BCM issue?HuhHuh??

Unless moisture/ liquid has caused the sensors to go bad?

Thanks for the comments and yes I will have it checked out next week. Just thought it very strange and wondered if anyone else had experienced it. I also have a GrandPrix GTP with the auto headlights and never had a problem and it's a 1997. Thanks again.

My parents have a 2000 Grand Am that had the same problem.  The dealer replaced their light sensor on the dashboard and that fixed the problem.

I had Lighting problems with my 2001 AZTEK, ( BCM )  Fix it!!  "warranty item"

If you are brave you can change it yourself.
Look around for a good price, and the procedure for repair.

In those situations I just tap the fog lights on and let it turn on the regular lights when it feels like.

The trouble got worse than just affecting the headlights. AC went hot, fan continued to run after being shut off and every light on the dashboard would go off and on with service engine soon staying on the longest. Gas gauge would show empty and even though the radio was off the theftlock would stay on and show locked on the radio. I list all this in the event someone else has the problem.
I took it in this morning and the culprit as someone suggested was the BCM. It was repaced under warranty and all is well.

Had about the same problem last month. Dealer replaced the main body computer. Told me that they have had lots of strange problems with the computer as of late.
