Title: New to the forum
Post by: wstefan20 on January 10, 2018, 07:43:53 PM
Hello all. I've been a lurker for a while now. I currently have a Pontiac Grand Prix, but I've always wanted an Aztek. My wife surprised me yesterday and told me she wants an Aztek for her next car!

I've rebuilt a few engines and transmissions in the process of rebuilding my grand prix, and I'm currently studying to be an electrical engineer, so I'm fairly good with most car mods.

I'm currently saving for a tuner as my plans are to modify the Aztek pcm for an L67 and do a supercharged swap! I've seen a few people have done this so I'm hoping I can learn a thing or two, as well as give back to the community.

In case anyone is curious, I'm also on w-body and grandprixforums.com under this username!  :)

Hey! I know you from w-body and there's a few w-body folks on here from what I have seen.

My friend Heather is currently doing an L67 swap on her Aztek. I don't think she is on here but is on the Facebook group.

Welcome, hopefully we can get the site hopping again, seems social media was all but killed the forums.

Hey man! I was hoping there'd be some friendly faces here! I've never really liked or thought much of Facebook groups. They're good for immediate response and having a ton of people, but there's no real room for actual meaningful discussion or debate, and information gets lost way too quick. I'm planning my L67 swap and have loads of questions, but only person I've seen post much about it is Brenner who is probably long gone.

Very true, but were a pretty tight knit group over there, just 275 or so members so things don't get lost so easily.

I have AllData if you need any wiring info, I know you posted some already which will be very useful so hit me up if you need anything else.

If my engine ever goes out on my Aztek or my Olds Silhouette, they are getting an L67. hah

Haha thanks! I'm sure I'll be taking you up on that offer soon! You don't happen to know how anyone got the gauges to work? I'm thinking maybe the impala ss tune would work? Other option I'm throwing around is running both pcms simultaneously, that way I could keep the interior stock, and keep AWD if I wanted! Though, it would be a wiring nightmare...

Good question about the gauges, I know she and her mechanic are working on the wiring now so I will ask her. I wouldn't think it would be all that different to be honest.

that would be awesome! Yeah, my main worry is that the bcm is so different, plus Brenner had issues with the gauges because other than the speedometer, the gauges are controlled via class 2 data, though he was using a gp tune and gps use everything manual. That and wether the anti - theft system wants to play along... no rush or anything. I'm still in the planning and saving stage.
