Hey everyone, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Andrew, and I'm a huge gear head. I realize that it's hilarious that I am posting that sentence on an Aztek forum...

I am on my way to pick up my first Aztek. Just a few hours ago I went and paid the owner and got the title, so I'm almost there. It has an engine issue and I have parts waiting at my shop to fix it. Cheesy I'll upload pictures when I get it!

A little about me..
I currently have a heavily modified BMW, and I have owned a 1996 Gsxr 750, a Chevy Avalanche 2500 with the 8.1L big block v8, and a 2002 Ford Ranger edge. All were modified to some extent.. I can't leave anything stock for too long. I have been interested in cars since I was a baby, and my first car was a power wheels Corvette at age 1. (lol)

I have worked in the automotive industry for quite a bit of time, including working at a luxury and exotic dealership. We were a Lotus and Aston Martin Dealer as well as other niche vehicles. Check them out at Parkplaceltd.com
I was a mechanic for a while, an automotive detailer, and now I am working at a startup classic car dealership called Authentic Motorcars.

So, that's a little about me. I'm glad to join the forum and I look forward to talking with you all about Azteks!

how is the work coming on your new car? 

we used to have a great mechanic, who kept our girl running like new, until they replaced our radiator, before a drive to Vegas, but did something wrong, which caused a full cooling system blow out as we drove up a steep grade, in the middle of the desert, many miles from an exit.  We are lucky to have lived thru it!  That was 2 years ago and we have tried a couple of shops, but not been thrilled.

the good news is that she just passed smog (I'm in CA) 5 months ago with numbers that the "test only" (after 12 years..) place was sure they were reading wrong.. so, we have been doing something right

Sorry I didn't see your reply! It's going excellent. I love my Tek, I've just been repairing things as they pop up. I had to replace the wiring harness for the right side wheels speed sensor because it kept turning on the abs light and locking up when it shouldn't have. I had to do an o2 sensor which was a pain... Pretty much everything was a pain due to lack of space in the back. I might be adding some heat shielding back there to reduce temperatures. I'm sure that has something to do with parts failing near the back of the motor.
