Title: New Canadian Members
Post by: TheHipAztek on September 08, 2004, 07:15:05 AM
I have noticed quite a few new Candian members joining the club here. I wanted to start posting in this section to get an idea of how many Canadian members there are, and if we can get a general idea of where everyone is located at. It would be nice to have a GTG or rally in the future, possibly in the Ontario area. I had a few ideas of maybe Niagara Falls or maybe Point Peelee or Peelee Island.

Another note: if any memebers in the Windsor area are interested, there is a GTG planned for the last Sunday in September, the 26th at Kensington Metro Park in Michigan, about 30 minutes from Windsor. There are posts and sign up sheet in the Central U.S. Aztek Rally page, for more details.

GO TEAM CANADA- IN THE WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY!!!

I'm not in Canada...but in Cleveland...and LOVE visiting Toronoto. (and Casino RAMA!)

I'm in for a GTG up there!

Thanks DJMOOSE,

I hope we can get more people up for a rally/gtg there. I am thinking Niagara Falls would be a cool place. I have seen car rallies of all sorts there. Toronto would be awesome, but trying to find a parking space there is hard enough. It would be harder to pull one off there in Toronto, i'm thinking. We just need more Canadian members, which I am working on trying to get some more.

We shall see eh. Maybe we will be attending the first Canadian rally next year?

Hi that would be great we live in London. I once saw a pt cruiser rally in Niagara Falls it had to have a  couple hundred cars. There is many different spots in Southern Ontario that would be approtiate. I am not sure how many are members but there is alot of Azteks driving around London 2001's and up. We will have to wait and see.

Looking forward to respones

I'm in Toronto and there are very few Azteks around these parts.  I thought after I picked it up that I would start to notice more of them....but in a month I have only seen 4, of those one was from Michigan.
I might be interested in crashing a rally, Niagara Falls could be fun!  I'll check this board for other announcements.

Awesome, there is some interest in a Canadian GTG/Rally. It looks like Niagara Falls may be the choice spot to have it. I am thinking that early next spring would be the time to have it. However I would like to get other people's opinion on that. I think it may be best to go before the end of May. It maybe better the beginning of May, as the tourist season has not taken full swing then. Or do we want to go when it is very touristy and draw lots of attention?

I am open to all suggestions! I have coordinated the big Metro Detroit Rally back in July. It was a ton of fun to plan. Now that I will be ending up in Windsor soon, I would like to plan for Canadian gtg/rallies.

Thanks for the postings so far, hopefully we can get more people interested!

Niagara is a great place for a rally
Had 91 Chevy Avalanche's there in June
I heard the PT's near'd 500

Nice hotels right on the strip
Campground up the road
Lots to do and see

And if your an adult and never been afraid
I challange you, to do Dracula's Haunted house :ignore:

Awesome. Well it is settled. I think that Niagara Falls would be the perfect place to hold one. I don't know if I can get 500 Azteks there like the PT Cruisers did, but we can try to get as many as we can.

I think it will be nice to have as many camper as possible too. I know some of those hotels can get quite pricy on the weekends. What I will start to do, is send messages to the Ontario members to start, and let them know about plans to organize a Rally at Niagara Falls. Then I will start on the other Great Lakes area members, I figure they might be interested in attending as well. After that I will send messages to other Canadian members to let them know of the plans as well, incase the wish to make the trek out there. I think I saw some that live out in BC and one in Newfoundland.

Once I start generating interest, then I will start to call on campgrounds over there, as well as hotels to see if any of them might give a discount on the non campers.

I will also be checking on sites where we can gather that weekend as well. I will plan on 20-30 for now. That migh tbe a safe number to have for a grounds to gather at. I know there are some parks right by the falls, and that might be our best shot.

AZteXtasy: Do you know where they held all of those Avalanches and PTs? Thanks.

Well stay tuned for more details...... :D

Thanks Kinger905! I will do so! I got a little tied up with one of my classes, so I have not checked in to see who would be commited to comming. I will get on that next week, and start the planning stages. If anyone would like to help, let me know. I think it will be fun.

Another note: Please bring back my hockey!!!!! I can only watch so much of my hockey movies. Slap Shot, Miracle, Les Boys! The OHL is cool, but I miss my Leafs!

Anyone interested in doing this in Niagara Falls Memorial Day weekend? I have been looking into camp grounds, and will need a good notice so all who are camping, can reserve the spots next to each other. Still no rates on camping, they said they have not priced out that far ahead just yet, and to get back after the first of the year.

Thought I would update everyone who is interested.  :cooldude:

Sure TheHipAztek I wouldn't mind attending a GTG in Windsor, I'm usually at the university 3 out of 5 days a week so something around that area would work or else I live in Tecumseh so we could figure out something for around there just like a quick meet and greet type of dealy. Where do you work by the way?

Post by: azz_man on October 19, 2006, 09:30:27 PM
Hey SCUBAztek I can't really remember how I found out about the club. I've been a member for about a year now and I was on the mailing list before thru yahoo! groups I think. I wanted to start a Windsor chapter of AztekOwners, never got off my lazy butt to do it though. I may have seen you around Windsor but I'm not quite sure, if you see a Citrus Green AWD with a custom side exhaust that sounds like a camaro thats me. My girl lives downtown so I'm in the Ouellette/Goyeau area pretty much every weekend.

I drive an 01 Red, If I see you I will stop and say Hi,  I love the look of your exhaust,  I have been wanting to do something like that as well.  Do you have a True Dual setup?  97Drexelgrad also has done some Exhaust work on his, Duals that come straight out the back.  His sounds Aweome as well.

No its not a true dual setup, I have a Flowmaster 40 series that is single out with a y-pipe coming out and 2 ansa polished stainless tips. I think its a y-pipe, I look under my Tek tomorrow and get back to you on it. I had the whole job done at Santings OK Tire on Walker Rd., cost around $300 I believe with the exception of the flowmaster which I bought new on ebay for $90 canadian.

Another Ontario Canada member here although I would like to go further than Niagara falls for a Rally seeing that I just live 15 minutes away. My as well just set-up in the backyard ...LOL .

Anyhow, I'm not 100% sure on this but I doubt that you can go tru dual exhaust on these things. I had a 1989 Gran Prix that I dualled after the catalytic and I put 2 mufflers and of course 2 tailpipes and tips.

For it to be true dual exhaust you wuld have to come straight off the manifold............. I think!

Hey everybody! First off, I know I have not been around as much as I have in the past. My job has me working 24/7, well it would seem that way. So, it seems we have enough interest in a Canadian GTG somewheres in Ontario. Lets get the ball rolling.

FYI- I am staying state side for now. I have not been back into Windsor since August. One reason my job makes it hard for me to have a personal life, unless I use my precious vacation time (like I had to do for the Monster Jam last weekend). The other reason, is I am afraid of runing into an ex-boyfriend, and since he knows what I drive and I would have Michigan plates, he might pick me out of a crowd of cars. I am kinda hard to miss.

Hey thanx SCUBAztek, I have another person tracking it from auctions to dealerships and he thinks it might be sitting on the Performance Ford lot so I'm gonna swing by there tomorrow. Even though the vehicle doesn't belong to me anymore I still want to make sure it doesn't have any damage or scratches on it just cause I babied it and treated it well when I had it. The dealership would always tell me that for a 6yr old vehicle it still looked new.

What a great site!

Hello from Medicine Hat, Alberta. We are the proud owners of a 2002 FWD and love it. We bought it new and although it is getting up there in milage, we can't see ourselves without it. It was the perfect vehicle to have as the kids have grown, the cooler came in handy for bottles and snacks for them and the room to pack stuff in is unbelievable.

We love camping with our tek, wether it is just the wife and I using the tent package or the family heading out for a camping trip with the pop-up being towed behind. It is amazing how much gear you can cram in there.

I love all the pics and if I can figure out how to upload some I will share them with you all.

I don't remember that, so I don't think it was me :P .  Apparently a couple people own gold Teks in Cambridge from what I've heard.  Look for the one with the bug deflector, clear plastic covers over both license plates, and LED lights!!  One of a kind! :)
