Spike did a list of the 7 ugliest cars of all time, guess which is number 4.

Another “ugly list” *sigh*… who gets paid to make these lists, really?

I think it would be more interesting (and not so subjective, i.e. “looks”) to see a list of the top 10 autos plagued by failures (mechanical, electrical, etc.). I wonder where the Aztek would place on THAT listing? I’m sure it wouldn’t be #4, or in the top 10 even

greensteel, maybe we need to make a list of the "top 10 Aztek wanna-be's" LOL (There are a lot of look-a-likes now a days, and they don't get the "ugly" stamp, not fair!)

I read something interesting when I was looking to buy my Aztek.  Apperently the reason people find the Aztek ugly is because they want cars to have facial features, looking at the front of most cars the have two eyes (headlights) and two nostrils (grill), but the Aztek has four eyes and four nostrils.  While people may accept one or the other, not both.

I posted that one a while back from a Motor Trend Magazine.  Here it is again.

Oh, I do like that in the Spike list,  the vehicle under the bag is an Aztek

Let me tell you a story. For my 16th birthday (almost 2 years ago) my mother bought me my first car. It was a 2001 Kia Sephia. It was pretty ugly and small for my liking but, it was my first car so I loved it. Well, about a year and a half later, my mom was car-less and had to borrow my Kia for a few weeks. I don't know what she did but, she blew the tranny =/ So now we were both car-less. And since she had to buy her own car as well as a new car for me, I was only allowed $3000 max for a new car. The Kia was $5000 with just over 100k on it. As we were shopping around for my car (of course she had already bought her own, kinda funny how she had to blow up my car when she was perfectly capable of buying herself a new one) I was disappointed. I wanted low miles so of course everything I found was a rust bucket. We settled for a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am for $2995 with 70k. Although a Pontiac, I was still upset considering the condition of the car and it needed new plugs and wires, rotors and drums, and one other thing replaced on it before drivable. As we were walking back to the dealers office to punch numbers, I saw an 01 aztek with a sticker price of $4400. I stopped my mother and the dealer and asked about it. I said why is it so cheap? The dealer told me that nobody else wanted it and it had a bit of miles on it. He also said if I wanted it, he would bring the price down to $4000 plus tax. I asked my mother if we could get it instead of the Grand Am and she said no, it was too much. So I asked the dealer for the keys (regarding my mothers answer) and off we went. It had 114,991 on it. I test drove that baby for about an hour almost, the whole way begging mother to buy it for me. Me, and with the help of the dealer (my new bestfriend  ^_^) talked her into buying it. That's when I fell in love with the Aztek. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I never once thought the Aztek was ugly. It was love at first sight. I like to think we were meant to be.

It's obvious that we owners don't "Follow the crowd" and shun "Group think", most of us anyway. I think we are actually quite the exclusive crowd others wish they could be in but without the snobbery the BMW or Mercedes owners' desire. We can turn it around people!

I say let's look down upon all other cars and smile knowingly when someone mentions BMW or Mercedes because we know we have better cars. When we meet we simply must open Champaign bottles (unless tailgating where beer and whiskey would obviously be appropriate) and toast to having higher taste than the masses.

My car was totalled this past Dec..as soon as I got this news from the adjuster I started my online search..that first day I saw a local one for sale and what caught my eye was just how different and unique it looked..I tried looking for other cars but I just kept finding myself searching only for the Aztek..I wanted one so bad that I expanded my search nationwide and found one that was just right for me in TX..Hubby and I flew down and bought and I couldn't be happier Smiley

Even my hubby calls it ugly but any time we go out he wants to take my car Tongue go figure.
