So I'm driving along in Eau Claire and I hit the campus to drop off a buddy and on my way back, the University Police pull me over.  They have the same cruisers as the Eau Claire cops, except university on the side. So that's who I thought was pulling me over.  No idea why.  Well a kid (younger then me) walks over to go through the reasons.

1. Too many headlights.  I guess state law says that 4 lights are legal, 6 lights aren't. oops.
2. The window decals on the back.  He asked of they are transparent(can see through) and I tell him that they are not in an are where they can be seen.  He takes time to look over and finally agrees. that they are ok.
3. License plate light is out.  Alright that one is legit.  Never looked, just assume that the light works.

So the University copper gives me, doesn't ask for, but gives me the excuse that because my Aztek if from out of state, I may not have known what the law was.  I said "Sure".  It took long enough for me to be pulled over for it though.  I have been running with 6 lights for 7 months, in front of and behind Eau Claire police.

In the end I get a written warning and after about 30 min, am sent on my way.  A happy ending for me cause I only need to buy a light and not pay for a ticket, or 3.  By the way, anyone know the number for the rear license plate bulb? I can't find it in the owners manual.

It is funny that this happened to you, BEEEECAUSE, yesterday as I am sitting at Tim Hortons having a coffee with a pal in the parking, a stinking copper FOR THE FIRST time ever decides to park his cruiser behind me.  I notice and make no concern of this, as I was not breaking any law (at least as I thought...)  Than tap tap tap on my window, so I bring it down about a half inch, litterally just a crack.  He sais...

You know your lights on top are illegal on top of your truck (in French..) I say nope, even though I did.  o than he rambles on and on about them as I could not care less I decided to gove him a little lib.  That was not too smart...  He ALMOST wrote me up.  Anyway, thats it.

Coincidence.

Gotta luv those UWEC campus cops.  All the years driving in that town growing up and the only issues I ever had were from them.

Sometimes I think they like to play grow up and make believe.

So I'm in KY...I guess rednecks "need" lights on top...because they aren't illegal here..then again I was in court with a friend yesterday and the judge let a guy out of jail on the grounds that the guy was "in jail for nothing" and "didn't know he was on probation"...and his 1st degree robbery charge was "just pending"...according to the guy in jail...and apparently having no lights, no exhaust, an out license plate light, a suspended license, no insurance, and a bag of marijauna is just a 300 dollar fine..lol...gotta love them redneck boys Tongue

The fine obviously was for the smoke... all the rest sound like normal for Alabama, just like Kentucky

Hmmmmm sounds to me like an international plot against Pewter Azteks. Glad I'm overseas right now and Tek Sgt is resting comfortably at home.  :us:

By the way, man it's hot here already. I got a sunburn on my bald head!

License plate light is out... that can't wait for an inspection? Or just a "hey, get a new bulb sometime soon" inplace of a "warning" or ticket? Those seem a bit drastic for a dollar or two item and 5 minutes to put it in. Goodness, the plate is reflective - light or not.
Really, is there no other crime to enforce?

AHHHH.....  The logic of LAW

Heh.. where's the logic?

I got pulled over for speeding a few weeks ago. I was speeding, but just to pass an old grandma who almost took off my side and my front 3 seperate times. He said if I go to court he'll back me up on it, he did see the lady and it was obvious she could barely see over the wheel.. SWERVE SWERVE SWERVE..

So if he saw the old lady swerving, why didn't he pull her over instead of you?  Now where's the logic eh?

Easy logic.

The old lady was swerving, but it was the day time so she can't possibly be drunk.

Dukat passed over the speed limit.  Speeding ticket = $$$$$$ = promotion
