First:  Nice job on the new section here Ken.

Today, we are taking a family trip back to Drexel for some of their annual Alumni gathering.  Drexel University is located in Philadelphia, PA where I was born raised, grew up, went to schhol and later got Married.  Every year, Drexel hosts Blue and Gold Days the first weekend of May.  It is a welcoming back of all years of their alumni for different events, and of course more fundraising.

This year is special for me since it is my 10 year reunion.  Wow, 10 years since I walked those halls ( carrying a Pepsi and a Butterfinger) on my way to class.

Right before Graduation, select few were given a bottle of specially labelled wine and accepted the responsibility of returning to the 10 year alumni weekend so we could crack them open.  We'll here's some pics of the wine and later I'll add some pics of the campus.

Oh, and a little update on the bottle of wine I waited 10 years to open.  Well it looks like the University didn't spring for the good stuff.  Even though the bottle was stored properly, the cork still dried out to the point that it ripped apart trying to get it out.  There was one other person there as well with the 10 year bottle and it happened to his as well, and from what the Dean said, happened to every bottle brought back over the past several years.

Jsut curoius on the bottle of wine. When you stored it, did you store it up-right. Cause you have to put it in a rack so that the wine is constantly touching the cork. that way the cork doesn't dry out. That is why they reccommend that you store the wine on racks, and if you notice, the top of the bottle should hang lower that the base so that the bottle is tilted down and the wine has a chance to sit at the cork end of the bottle.

So if you did all that and the cork still fell apart than you're probably right on the cheap wine assessment.

What a cool idea about the wine, even though it wasn't good wine. Smiley

Maybe we could do something like that with the IAR.  Distribute several bottles of wine and those receiving the bottles will commit to attending the next years Rally.

I'm in. How about each member brings a bottle and we all just trade around. That way we can have some wine from other parts of the country/another country

Hmm, not too much of a wine person.

I know, I'll bring a case of the local breweries best. Some of you may know it.  -_-

We'll go Wisconsin law on the age one.  As long as the parents are ok and not in a business, we can let it slide.
