We're (the two of us)  planning on being there for the whole shebang this year. It will give us a chance to get to know more of you folks.

I will know as soon as I get my Tek back from the shop and the bill.  With all that has been going wrong with it in the last couple of months, It doesn't look like I'll be able to make it.

I have bad news, well for me at least.  After all my looking forward to attending the rally this year, as of last night my finances are taking a huge down-turn and I am having to cancel.

In one fell swoop we took a one-two punch to our finances...my wife is a private scrub nurse for a surgeon and her surgeon is leaving the practice, which means she loses her job effective in 60 days.  Now, one could say "well, find another job"...which is true, yes, and she will, but she gets paid well above the norm for her position currently so any new position she secures will absolutely pay her less than she is getting now by a substantial amount.  Yes, she lucked into her current job - but she's now "bad lucking" her way back out of it.  Which sucks.  The second bit - we started noticing my wife's child support stopped being received, so she called her ex-husband to see if something was wrong to find out he quit his job and is moving to Colorado with his third wife and fifth child.  Those funds were always put into an account to pay for the kids' sports interests, or to assist in buying clothes or whatever - with that gone it moves those items back into our main family funds which are temporarily being cut in half from the loss of a job.  Throw in gas prices skyrocketing and my back is against a wall.  I can't come to the rally this year.  In fact, we're also cancelling next year's Hawaii trip we'd been saving for, and our family vacation to Cedar Point in Ohio this summer too.

Bad luck is always coupled with bad timing.  I'm hoping to be able to rearrange our finances to balance us back out again by next year, then hopefully I can attend then.  I WAS SO CLOSE...I ALREADY HAD THE CABIN PARTIALLY PAID FOR!   :banghead:

Man, sorry to hear.  I hope she can pick up a new gig that pays at least close to what she makes now.

And talking about the one-two punch... I have been hit hard with repairs again and I need to get in to the shop again for a CV joint and the Versatrac is groaning loudly.  Goodbye to any hope of funds in the near future.

I am sorry to hear about your situation, with the current Nurses shortage I am sure that she won't be out of work long.  I was looking forward to meeting you and your family.
Oh well there is always next year

Best of luck and Keep on Tekkin
