Saw on the news that there has been a lot of rain and flooding up in Ohio over the last few weeks.  Has anybody checked in with Mohican to make sure it's not flooded?  (And I'm not talking about Azteks bumping into water pipes.)

If you can't fix it yourself, redesign it since it was obviously poorly designed to begin with, otherwise you could fix it yourself.  Right?

lol.  Couldn't resist.  I wasn't even there and I still find it hilarious (probably because it sounds like one of those totally unlikely things that usually happen to me.)

Anyway, thanks for the link.  I guess the river is up a little, but not overly dangerous at this point.

Here's another question...  How's the fishing up there?  Do you have to have an Ohio fishing license?  I LOVE fishing, but hate eating fish.  Tongue

if you are standing on the banks of the campground you do not need a license.  But, if you choose to wade into the river, then you would be responsible for carrying a valid Ohio State fishing license.

What if I catch the fish while standing on the bank, but it gets tangled up and I have to wade in to get it out?  Under normal circumstances I won't be doing any wading, at least not while I'm holding the fishing pole.

Wow!  The river is either so low that we are paddling through mud, or so high it's almost dangerous.

Will we be ok where we were last year?  The river was right there behind us...

We had one of the riverside cabins last year, and it was pretty high above the river, so I don't think flooding will be a problem unless they get 1 or 2 feet of rain in one day. Let us hope some dry weather is in the cards!!

and a note to all attending this year:  Bring some long pants, sweatshirts, a jacket, and a blanket or two.  Last year the week started with very high heat and humidity and quickly changed clear and cold several nights.  Ended beautiful by the weekend's end.

I promise that this year I'll be up stream!

You have to admit though that it was a great excuse to leave the campfire!

"Uh oh.  I think my campsite is flooding!"

Since we live so close - we know that they haven't had any flooding, but enough water that should make for some great canoeing, if anyone is interested.

I won't add on the the comments about Drex's water issues Smiley

we went canoeing last year and it was quite enjoyable.  Last year, the river level was pretty low so that is why I hit the water pipe... I was trying to raise the river's water level.
