Were gonna try leaving early with lots of stops for Jayme. As of now our route is up 33 to 80. Then west to Ohio. I'll send you my cell number so we can touch base that day. I'm up to 164,000 miles and things are wearing out. I have AAA and any passing Aztek offering c.y.a assistance.

Id like to go but may be a bit short notice, I can be there the first 2 days for sure, but not sure about after that due to my work schedule.  Plus on top of that I'm having difficulty finding directions there.

Question:  Is the registration fee for adults only, or do we pay for each 'body' coming to the rally?

Title: Re: 2008 Rally and Registration

Thanks for bringing this up......I totally forgot to mention that.

The Rally fees are for each adult, I would say 18 and over.  But they would not get a T-shirt or be eligible for Door prizes.

Extra T-shirts can be ordered at the time of registration for 12 each, or 14 at the Rally.

Any questions feel free to ask

Question:  Is the registration fee for adults only, or do we pay for each 'body' coming to the rally?

If I had a GPS it would, i have just been using google maps, etc..  My folks bought one and returned it the same day.  They figured why spend $200 for a map, when they could get a map for a fraction of the cost lol.  I need a TomTom hehe.

Also, if you ever drive through Chesterfield MO, don't take the GPS's directions as unquestioned gospel because mine kept telling me to drive through the Missouri River.  I drive an Aztek, not one of those amphibious Ducks from Branson.

Anyone from the States that wishes to pay by a check or money order please PM me.  You can send the check or money order to me, where I will cash and forward the money to Ken( SCUBAztek).  Since Ken is in Canada, having a check or money order passing through the Border along with the fees that the Canadian Government would charge to convert along with the long length of time to process it is not feasible to send to him directly.

I would say they would be responsible for the fee.  Please keep in mind that all of the money that we collect from the rally fees is spent on prizes for the Rally, costs covering hats, costs to the local Chamber of Commerce, shirts etc, and a portion to a charitable donation to a local Charity.  IIRC, last years fees, fell just short of all of the above said expenses.

Ken will give the final answer on that question though.

I am only going to be able to come on Saturday. My wife's work ended up scheduling her even though they had originally given her the weekend off. I'll be bringing my older daughter at the least, and possibly my younger one, too.

If we are coming just for the activities on Saturday, and not camping, will we need to register and pay any fees?

Thanks,
Aaron

Does anyone have a head count on how many Teks are going?  I should be getting the final yes or no from my boss as all vacations have been taken back due to short staff.  My bro is planning on comming with his Tek too.  I hope it is not too late to register.  I hate being a last minute entry.  I plan on bringing all I have to the rally.  I am working two jobs and don't get home most nights til 10 or 11 so I sadly have not been as active as I wish

Take care all

If I can only make it for a few hours on saturday what will I have to pay. Dont know if I will be able to stay the night but am trying to get off work.

Included in the fees are the cost for the T-Shirt and for Door Prizes, along with a Charitible donation that we make every year, Chamber of Commerce Fees, etc.

The T-Shirts have already been ordered, I have ordered a few extra so you may not get your first choice in ink colour. The Door prizes will be drawn on Saturday evening, so if you don't want to be in the drawing or have a T-shirt, then you can knock $15 from the fees.

There is also a Day Use fee at the campground as well,  Can't remember what it was though.

Hope you can make it

Well friends.... I have failed you ):

I was still holding out hope that at the last minute I could get my little tek filled with my family and toys and fellowship with some of the coolest peeps I know.  But after a fri-sat plan turned into just a sat,  I found myself still too far behind in my work to be able to escape for the weekend.  I now work two jobs and my second one is painting custom C6 corvette parts.  I had an order for over a hundred different items to be painted for a car show that has to be filled and shipped by this monday.  I have been working until close to midnight every night (except sundays) to meet the order.  I will make it but not without letting you wonderful people down.

I truely give my most heart felt appologise to all the moderators who put there time, talents, and money into making this years rally happen,  I truely regret not being able to thank them in the best way I can... By show up and supporting their hard work.  I am also sorry about not being able to bring all the diferent products this year to sell.  I fully plan to be at future rallys and wish all who attend this year safe travels and happy memories.  It truely feels like I am missing out on a family reunion.

Take care all and sorry again.

Snazzie - sorry to hear you won't be able to make it.

Fellow Aztekians...  I too have to announce that the Warthog and I won't be there.  Some last minute medical issues are forcing me to stay home.  I tried to work though them, and was holding out for a 1am departure this morning, but it was not to be.

I was really looking forward to this weekend too - I had a blast last year and will miss seeing all of you.  PLEASE take lots of pictures!

I am all packed up and ready to go, so as soon as I can resolve these medical issues I'm going to have to go on a camping trip.  I want to test out my new gear.  I bought a new stand alone tent to hold my gear so that I can run around with the tek without having to pack/unpack everything each time.  That's something I learned from you guys last year.

Have a great time everyone!  THINKING OF YOU!

:banghead: :banghead:well, people. as i type this sitting from home I too am a last minute cancellation. Actually im a very late delay. we primarily set out this morning and ran into road problems half way through Indiana. Road problems which caused us to barely limp back home dragging  an injured camper. Now the camper is at the rv place getting an estimate on the repairs. plus it didnt help that the tek started a service engine soon light shortly after the mishap with the camper. im guessing its from the jerk from the accident with the camper because the light came on right after we started the tek back up after hitting the railing. Rest assured folks that we or the general lee didnt get hurt but I dont think the camper will survive its scars.

now since ive got the tek all unpacked im sitting here all bummed out with half a cooler of cookies and brownies. i guess you know what ill be doing all weekend now. Soaking my sorrows by stuffing my face with sweets. I keep looking at the clock thinking, i should of been there by now, i should of had the tent set up by now, i should of been sitting by the fire with my friends by now.

Well the 2008 Rally for the two time award winning Intercontinental Aztek Fan Club is now in the history books. All went well with the exception of a little bit of rain on Saturday. Luckily the rain held off until after the parade. I was honored to have been selected to lead the club through the parade route, so thank you to all those involved with gathering tid-bits of information about my military career and recent deployment to Iraq. I was really surprised and touched to hear what had been submitted to the announcer as my personal introduction.  :us:

I'm glad you and the GL are safe.  Sorry to hear about the loss of the camper.  I myself had a bit of trouble at the Rally, when my Tek, with family inside, ran off the road into a large ditch.  Saved by a large truck dragging me up and out of it by hooking to my trailer hitch.  The camper was back at the site alrealdy.

Elisha you should have taken pictures of the camper before you got it fixed.

Holy @#$% Elisha,

As disappointed as I am that you Didnlt make it to the Rally,  I am more happy that you and your family are not hurt.

What happened?  Did it start to sway and get away from you?  Did someone hit you? Was it a Bad crosswind?  Rough Roads that started it bouncing?

There is always next year for the Rally

Nah, it was more like some ahole in a piece of crap just about sideswiped us which caused us to swerve over pushing us into the siderail of a bridge. Peeled the side corner of the camper up pretty bad. Its fixable but I wouldnt want to trust something thats been salvaged. So I think were just going to sell it back to the rv place.

The rest of my week wasnt any better. I found a long gouge in my front bumper on Saturday that I knew wasnt there the day before.  :banghead: I let out every cuss word I knew when I found it. five year old car and some nitwitt has to give it its first scratch. Whoever scratched it knew they did it too because they bent down and left a dirty handprint on it. I felt like taking it up to the police station for fingerprinting if i knew i could catch them. It sickens me to look at it when i get into the tek. If only I could tell the inscurance company that it was from the accident.  Now that means no car show for next weekend. I cant go with a slashed front bumper. :banghead: I cant even bring myself to clean it let alone look at it.

Another thing. I was over at my grandparents house over the weekend. we were mingling outside the garage so i decided to open up the hatch and sit on the tailgate. My grandpa decided to sit down besides me and procedes to spill his beer all over my tailgate.  :banghead:

Oh my... seems like you are stuck in a Coy and Vance episode!!! AAAHHHHH

I hope everything is fixed up soon, and you can get the General back into shows - keep the Aztek in the public eye.
Best of luck!

Well my Grandmother se to say that bad luck always came in threes,  so out shounds like you are due for some good luck soon.  Get out there and buy a lotto ticket.

Is the scratch on the bumper repairable?

My aunt says the same thing ( bad luck always comes in threes )

The scratch is right under the drivers side headlight a couple of inches under the side seam. Its more than a hand length long. Im not sure if its something I can buff and redo myself or if I have to have it professionally done. Ill know more on friday when I go into town and stop at the body shop.
